Tired of dull and lifeless shooters with little variety or originality? Well then get ready to meet Super People, a riotously enjoyable super soldier shooter/battle royale hybrid out of South Korea. The game, which combines realistic shooting, superpowers, and RPG-like crafting, is out in Early Access and is playable now via Steam.
Through several periods of beta testing, developer Wonder People has built on the game's foundations to create a balanced and dynamic gameplay experience that has earned them a loyal fanbase of regular players. Through community channels across social media and Discord, Wonder People have listened to fans' and used it to improve on the core gameplay experience.
Directed by Seong Gon Park, Super People has already attracted 4.3 million players for its closed beta test in December 2021 and will continue to gain momentum as we lead up to the full launch. Read on to get the lowdown on this exciting title and its wide range of classes, abilities, and intense action all wrapped up in a familiar battle royale.

Back to basics
For the uninitiated, Super People is a free-to-play battle royale game, where you can fight to death solo, in a duo, or with a squad. You'll get to play as a variety of unique character classes, each with its own traits and ultimate abilities. These abilities can be upgraded during matches by collecting Super Capsules, powerful supplements stashed throughout the game world that upgrade skills based on their corresponding colours.

As you survive longer into the match, you will gain levels, strengthening your character and increasing your chance of victory. Each character has 27 levels to progress through, and reaching level 10 will grant you access to devastating ultimates that can easily turn the tide of a battle. Ultimates run the gamut from teleportation to nukes that can wipe out entire areas.
On top of the exhilarating combat, there is also an intricate crafting system to sink your teeth into. You can scavenge crafting materials like nails and lenses to craft items to boost your war effort, including armour items like helmets and body armour, accessories like backpacks, and weapons ranging from assault rifles to shotguns. To optimise your performance, you'll have to learn the layout of Orb Island like the back of your hand.
As you play and win, you'll earn new cosmetic unlocks to kit out your super people with awesome costumes and accessories. All unlocks are purely aesthetic and don't affect gameplay, meaning that all players are on an even footing when starting a match.
Top of the class
There are currently 14 classes to experiment with, which are randomly assigned at the start of the match. Players have the option to reroll in exchange for gold. Gung-ho players should choose the Firearms Expert, an assault class which can slow down time and deploy a force field. A good counter to this is the Gas Soldier, a flamethrower who can use chemical weapons to get around barriers.

The Driver specialises in vehicles and can even modify them to act as projectiles. This class is useful when paired with the Gatling Soldier, who has high health and uses a huge gun to do serious damage. In contrast, the Marine focuses on stealth and can summon fog to impair the enemy's lines of sight.
The Nuclear class uses explosives to wreak havoc on the battlefield and can even call in a tactical nuke when his ultimate is charged. The Teleporter can zip around the map, healing teammates and taking out enemies. The Titan can deploy powerful shields, while the Seeker leverages traps to get the drop on opponents.
The Shotgun Master's role is fairly self-explanatory, using flashbangs to surprise enemies. The Sniper can use a heartbeat sensor to spot enemies in unclear conditions. There's also the Strike Force class, which has enhanced speed and agility, and SWAT, an urban warfare specialist who can utilise parkour skills. Finally, Demolisher is the most-recently launched class, which uses explosion skills and is capable of delivering explosive attacks with multiple combat styles.
Road to launch
On top of balancing and tweaking gameplay fundamentals, the developers are also planning to add a suite of new features to the full launched game including more classes, skills, vehicles, weapons, attachments, and more.
