One of 2024's best open-world RPGs, Rise of the Ronin is coming to PC

From the team behind Ninja Gaiden, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, and the beloved soulslike Nioh, Rise of the Ronin is heading to Steam soon.

Somewhere between Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Elden Ring, you will find the hidden RPG jewel that is Rise of the Ronin. Created by Team Ninja, the developer behind Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, the eponymous Ninja Gaiden, and super-tough soulslike Nioh, until now, Rise of the Ronin has been totally unavailable on PC. But that's about to change. The open world is pretty. The combat is demanding, and inspired by the best of FromSoftware. The story has some fantastic twists and turns. And now the Rise of the Ronin PC launch date has been confirmed.

It's 1858, and the Japanese Revolution, also known as the Boshin War, is beginning to boil. After failing to assassinate a key United States diplomat, you set out across Yokohama, Kyoto, and Edo (which is now Tokyo) on a mission to find your missing partner and battle for Japan's future. open-world game, it's more story-driven and linear than some of its influences, but still allows for exploration and a lot of player choice.

Originally released back in March 2024, Rise of the Ronin has amassed a very credible Metacritic score of 76. Until now, it's been confined to the PlayStation 5, but thankfully a PC launch is finally around the corner. The Rise of the Ronin PC release date is set for Tuesday March 11.

The Steam version will include several new features like 8K resolution, ray tracing, 120fps , customizable keyboard and mouse controls, and ultra-wide monitor compatibility.
