The next Path of Exile 2 update brings endgame improvements and more stash tabs

Grinding Gear Games details Path of Exile 2 patch 0.2.0h, with a focus on endgame improvements, quality of life, and new stash tabs.

More Path of Exile 2 endgame improvements are on the way, as developer Grinding Gear Games continues to build on its second early access season, Dawn of the Hunt. Now that the rush from rivals such as Last Epoch and Diablo 4 has ed, and with the previous update bringing back a much-needed flood of loot drops, it's a good time to return to the ARPG sequel. Path of Exile 2 patch 0.2.0h is set to deliver an improved endgame experience, more useful quality-of-life upgrades, and additional stash tabs.

In a new developer blog, Grinding Gear Games says it's currently aiming to release the new RPG, any particularly tedious or annoying aspects quickly build up and threaten to spoil the experience.

At the top of the list is Breach. GGG is targeting instances "where far too few monsters spawn and the Breach doesn't last long enough," amplifying it to ensure that your minimum expected outcome still feels good. Breach splinter stacks will now drop in larger piles, meaning less busywork to collect them. Rogue Exiles are being adjusted to increase their visibility, and the behavior of the new enemy-buffing Azmerian Wisps is being tweaked to improve how they feel when two spawn simultaneously.

There are also various new quality-of-life tools, which are set to make your life much easier. The first of these are UI slots for Strongboxes and Essences that will allow you to spend currency on them without needing to open them first. You'll be able to use this even for Vaal Orbs on Essences. Answering another common community request, unidentified tier 1-5 magic and rare items will now be filterable, helping you pick out the most interesting candidates when using a Path of Exile 2 loot filter.

Two more custom PoE 2 stash tabs are being introduced to the store. The Ritual tab is designed to hold all the Omens and Audiences with the King that you'll get from that activity. The Socketable tab has space for anything that you can slot into your equipment; Runes, Talismans, and Soul Cores. You'll also be able to perform Rune upgrades within the tab. While it's not mentioned here, these will most likely need to be purchased with the game's points in order to use.

GGG notes that it's intending to include "a few other quality-of-life changes" in this update that it will talk about next week. Path of Exile 2 patch 0.2.0h will also enable the creation of private leagues, which will currently be handled through the PoE 1 website. Don't expect any additional mods akin to the first game's ongoing event; the functionality will be expanded in the future, but for now GGG says it simply "wanted to get the ability to create private leagues released sooner rather than later for those that want to start over in a fresh economy by themselves or with their friends."
