With the right multiplayer game, but if you follow along to the steps outlined in this guide, you won't ever have that problem again.
Cassidy Stadium DPS build
In traditional Overwatch, Cassidy is hampered by his weapon's stock ammo capacity, but we can completely change this in Stadium to make him an unstoppable force at close quarters.
Cassidy DPS build powers
Here are the powers you should aim to pick up as Cassidy:
- Round 1: Hot Potato
- Round 3: Just Roll With It
- Round 5: Full House
- Round 7: Barrel Roll
To increase the number of bullets Cassidy has at his disposal, Hot Potato is a strong pick in the first round as it provides you with three extra ammo whenever your flashbang hits an enemy. This extra ammo only applies to your current clip, so when you reload, you will lose those extra bullets.
Next up is Just Roll With It, a useful survivability-focused power which makes you invulnerable to incoming damage during a combat roll, and it restores 30% of your life over three seconds. This is essential as the rounds progress in Stadium due to Cassidy's total health. When your opposition starts to get stronger, you can be wiped out in only a few shots. Having a way to heal yourself when there aren't any healers around is incredibly important, and you can utilize the invincibility frames on your combat roll to avoid damage from certain ultimates.
With a decent number of magazine upgrade items under your belt (more on this later), by round five you should go for Full House to increase your primary fire damage by 1% for each ammo available in your weapon, and that caps at 25%.
Lastly, we have Barrel Roll which lets Cassidy damage enemies using combat roll, and it lets you travel 50% further while rolling. You could swap out this power for Flash In the Pan if you find that you use Cassidy's ultimate regularly. However, it can be difficult to get the most out of this ultimate, especially if you're playing as a solo player, so we've gone with combat roll buffs instead.
Cassidy DPS build items
While Cassidy does benefit from the powers he has access to, you should see more of a transformative effect if you go for the correct items. Our Cassidy DPS build targets many weapon items, specifically his ammo reserves, giving you access to a lengthy right click attack.
Here are the items you should aim to pick as Cassidy:
- Ammo Reserves – Costs 1,500, Common, Weapon
- Stockpile – Costs 4,000, Rare, Weapon
- Commander's Clip – Costs 10,000, Epic, Weapon
- Frankie's Fixer – Costs 10,000, Epic, Survival
- Vanadium Injection – Costs 10,000, Epic, Survival
- Competitive Analysis – Costs 11,000, Epic, Weapon
Ammo Reserves grants you 20% max ammo, taking you up to seven bullets per clip. This will likely be a staple of your build as you won't need to swap it out until the final few rounds when you've got large sums of cash available. Stockpile is the natural this item as it increases Cassidy's max ammo by 25% and provides 5% attack speed, though you can and should use both, especially when you're running low on money. Commander's Clip is the best of the ammo capacity upgrades, giving us 10% attack speed, 40% max ammo, and it restores 10% of your max ammo whenever you use your flashbang or combat roll.
Frankie's Fixer synergizes well with our powers, providing us with 50 health, in addition to 10 heal for every bullet loaded when using combat roll. Considering how often we use this ability and how we're adding to our ammo capacity, this is a must-have item to stop you from being torn to shreds by hit-scan heroes. Competitive Analysis improves both our survivability and damage output, buffing Cassidy's weapon with 20% lifesteal, and it provides a 15% damage buff using his primary fire, but only to enemies in the DPS roll.
Finally, we've gone for Vanadium Injection which may be a slightly controversial pick given that you need to be at 100% ultimate charge to utilize it, but we think it's worth it. This item gives you 50 shields, and when you've built up your ultimate, it grants you the following buffs: 10% weapon power, 10% ability power, 10% attack speed, 10% cooldown reduction, and 10% move speed. Unless you have a team that can take advantage of Cassidy's ultimate, this gives your ultimate an alternative use to provide an all-round buff.
Mei Stadium DPS build
The best Mei Stadium DPS build turns the queen of freezing into a nightmare, capable of destroying enemies as a frozen boulder while simultaneously disrupting the enemy team with slowdown effects.
Mei DPS build powers
Here are the powers you should aim to pick up as Mei:
- Round 1: Coulder
- Round 3: Cryclone
- Round 5: Iceberg
- Round 7: Frost Nova
Frustrating the opposition with Coulder, turning Mei's cryo-freeze ability into a rolling iceball that not only deals 10 damage when she hits an enemy, but it also knocks people back to potentially send them flying off the map. Of all the powers we've seen so far, this is the one that is likely to get a huge nerf as it seems too powerful in its current state.
Cryclone builds on this by producing a mini blizzard that slows enemies whenever Mei turns herself into a rolling ice boulder. Follow this up with Iceberg which produces a similar effect to Cryclone, except the blizzard applies to Mei's ice wall ability. Combine this with Coulder to ram your enemies into the ice wall, forcing them to take huge amounts of damage as you grind them into dust.
In the final round, opt for Frost Nova to get further value from cryo-freeze, knocking back enemies and dealing 60 damage as soon as the effect ends.
Mei DPS build items
Here are the items you should aim to pick as Mei:
- Meicicle – Costs 4,000, Rare, Survival
- Ecopoint Cryobed – Costs 10,000, Epic, Ability
- Martian Mender – Costs 10,000, Epic, Survival
- Eye of the Spider – Costs 13,500, Epic, Weapon
- Lumerico Fusion Drive – Costs 10,000, Epic, Ability
- Champion's Kit – Costs 13,500, Epic, Ability
Meicicle is the obvious choice for this build, increasing the duration of cryo-freeze by 25%, giving you more time to smash into enemies. Similarly, Ecopoint Cryobed will save you from dying by triggering cryo-freeze when your health gets dangerously low, and you also gain 15% ultimate charge. This item can only activate once per round, but its sheer power outweighs its limited use. Regarding survivability, Martian Mender gives you 25 health, reduces cooldowns by 10%, and restores 3% of your life every second.
Now for Mei's weapon, aim to grab Eye of the Spider as it increases your weapon power by 25% and deals an extra 10% to enemies below 30%. Pick up Lumerico Fusion Drive to buff your ability power by 15%, add 50 armor to your total health, and restore 50 armor or shields over two seconds every time you use an ability. Speaking of abilities, you should also acquire Champion's Kit as it provides Mei with a 40% buff to her ability power, perfect for this deadly build.
