There's a new BioShock on the way. It should be no surprise that 2K would – eventually – bring out a new entry in one of their biggest and best-regarded series, but now we have confirmation of its existence. Albeit an unofficial one.
Check out the biggest PC games.
A "top-secret" 2K studio is at work on the next BioShock game. According to a report from troubles at Mafia III developers Hangar 13), it's a secret even within the company, with of the development team remaining tight-lipped even with those at sister studios.
The game, codenamed Parkside, is reportedly in development "right next" to Hangar 13, though no specific studio was named. It's currently in development for the Unreal engine.
Among other details I learned while reporting this story: Right next to Hangar 13, a top-secret 2K studio is now working on a top-secret new BioShock game.

An inside source says that many at Hangar 13 want to move to the unannounced project, but "the issue is that Parkside's not ready for lots of people. They're trying to be really smart about figuring out what the core thing is. They're careful about not falling into the same problem every studio has, where they have too many people and nothing for them to do."
Judging by the tone of that statement, the new BioShock will be too early in development to be the "highly anticipated title" due for release March 2019 2K alluded to earlier this year. (We still expect that to be Borderlands 3, by the way.)
