Who are the playable characters in Metaphor ReFantazio? Atlus' rather brilliant turn-based JRPG boasts a lovable cast of followers who you on your journey to become the king of Euchronia. While some are confined to its social sim system, a select cohort of heroes accompany you on your journey.

Protagonist
A childhood friend of the prince, the protagonist now walks the path towards the throne in his stead. Flanked by fairy confidant Gallica, as well as party from across the Euchronian tribes, the protagonist looks to unite the kingdom under a central banner. As the prince was led by the ideology of an ancient text describing a utopia, so too is the protagonist.
Strohl
Leon Strohl da Haliaetus is the son of a noble family hailing from the village of Halia. However, after the village was destroyed in a human attack, Strohl found himself searching for a way to restore his family's name in Grand Trad. It's here that Strohl meets the protagonist while g up for the Euchronian army.
Hulkenberg
Like Strohl, Eiselin Burchelli Meijal Hulkenberg also goes more colloquially by her surname. A noble Roussainte knight who formed part of the prince's royal guard, Hulkenberg has been on her own journey to find the prince since his disappearance.
Heismay
Heismay Noctule is a Eugief who once operated as part of the Shadowguard – the Euchronian equivalent of the secret service. When we meet him, however, he's on the run under the allegations of kidnapping children from Martira. An eventual addition to the party, Heismay's plotline is one of our favorites in the entire game.
Junah
Juani Cygnus – or Lady Junah to, well, everyone – is Euchronia's most popular songstress. Her fame knows no bounds, as she is also well-received beyond the kingdom. When we meet Junah she is quickly revealed to be one of Louis's adjutants, though after certain events unfold she finds her way onto the team.
Eupha
Euphausia Etoreika is the sacred priestess of the Mustari village on Virga Island. The highest representative of the Dragon God religion, Eupha is considered a pagan by the Sanctist Church, and her people are branded savages. Her lack of experience with the outside world makes for some adorably funny moments after she s the party.
Basilio
Basilio Lupus Magnus, like Junah, is one of Louis's closest aides. The younger of the Magnus siblings, Basilio brings the brawn to match Fidelio's brains. While Basilio might not trust his own thoughts, his heart is always in the right place, making him an elite-tier playable character even without taking into his monstrous strength.
Grius
Arvid Svendel Grius was once the prince's swordsmanship instructor and, like Hulkenberg, formed part of his royal guard. However, Grius disappeared with his liege on the night of the attack on the palace. As it transpires, Grius has been working covertly against the prince's assailant.
Grius was temporarily part of the team during the first hours of the game, accompanying the protagonist and Strohl back to Grand Trad from the Northern Border Fort.
