Best Indiana Jones and the Great Circle book abilities and upgrades

You unlock new abilities to buy by finding Adventure Books during quests in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but which are best?

What are the best book abilities and upgrades in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle? Since Indy isn't the most powerful of action stars, you need to rely on abilities that improve his physical skills, as well as those that give him more ways to take on the Nazis that plague the world. Among those skills, some are a lot more useful than others, so you need to be picky with which you unlock so that you're not wasting your vital Adventure Points.

action adventure games. Instead of giving you a skill tree to work through, you need to find Adventure Books around the world, both in missions and the open world sections. Then, once you've found the books, you need to spend Adventure Points to unlock each one individually. Finding the book only gives you the chance to purchase the ability or upgrade.

That, and the fact that Adventure Points are earned by exploring, are an attempt to ensure you search the surrounding area all the time when playing through The Great Circle's story.

Best Indiana Jones and the Great Circle book abilities

Here are the ten best books you should find and unlock in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We will cover what they do, where to find them, and how many Adventure Points they cost to unlock.

The Brawler book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Shaping Up I

Shaping Up increases your health by one bar, and there are three of them to unlock. The first costs five Medicine Bottles, the second costs 10, and the third costs 15. All three of them are purchased from vendors in the three open areas: The Vatican, Gizeh, and Sukhothai.

Moxie book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Moxie I

Much like Shaping Up, Moxie increases your stamina by one bar, and there are three of them to unlock. The first costs five Medicine Bottles, the second costs 10, and the third costs 15. All three of them are purchased from vendors in the three open areas: The Vatican, Gizeh, and Sukhothai.

Cutman II

Linked closely with Shaping Up, Cutman II improves health bar regeneration efficiency, allowing you to heal faster after taking damage. It costs 550 Adventure Points and is found once you get onto Voss's airship after leaving the Vatican with Gina. You'll grab it in the first room on the left after starting that section.

Punch Out book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Punch Out I

Punch Out is likely the first book you find in The Great Circle. It costs 25 points and restores your stamina when you knock an enemy out. You'll find it in the guard room where the Guard House key is, at bottom area of castle.

Lucky Hat book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Lucky Hat I

Lucky Hat is our favourite book and ability in the game. Whenever you're knocked down by an enemy, you can revive yourself if you're able to scramble around on the ground and find Indy's hat. If you do, the hero will confidently put his hat back on and be able to surprise the enemies again. Somehow, they seem to forget you exist when you use this skill. It costs 125 Adventure Points to unlock and is found in the captain's office in the early castle section.

Brawler I in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Brawler I

Brawler is useful for the entire game as it increases the damage you deal in all forms of melee combat. There are also three levels to find, really increasing the power you have. The first one costs 200 points, and is found in the castle in the Vatican, right after finding the captain's key and taking the zipline down to the next part of the castle. Head down the stairs and it's on a block in the first room.

Another Brawler book is found in the enemy dig site in the far west of Gizeh, in the first tent after you drop down into it.

The Handyman book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Handyman

There's nothing more frustrating than finding a good melee weapon and it breaking after just a few swings. Thankfully, Handyman increases the durability of them, for the cost of 800 Adventure Points. You'll find it in the cave in the Wat Si Sawai temple in Sukhothai during the The Kid Who Vanished Fieldwork quest.

Fast Hands

Indy's revolver is a powerful weapon, it just takes an absolute age to reload. To reduce the time is takes, find and unlock the Fast Hands book. It costs 650 points and can be found when you first get to Sukhothai with Gina, in the tent on the left during the walk up to the hotel.

The Slugger I book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Slugger I

In the later stages of the game, most enemies start to shield themselves by holding both hands up in front of their faces. To break them down, you need to hit them with a charged attack. By unlocking the Slugger book for 450 points, you'll be able to increase the damage those charged attacks do. The first book is found in the restricted area in the centre Gizeh, in one of the central tends, propped up at the end of one of the beds.

The Block Head book in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Block Head

Finally, Block Head is one of the best abilities to find in The Great Circle. For 400 Adventure Points, you can ensure that melee weapon attacks are more easily blocked, allowing you to not take too much damage. This skill is particularly useful against boss enemies. You'll find it in the central restricted area in the middle of Gizeh, in the main tent just next to the watchtower.

There are other books that are worth finding, but most of them come down to what fits your playstyle in The Great Circle. If you've been impressed by the acting in the game, check out the full how long Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes to beat.
