The Horizon Zero Dawn MMORPG has reportedly been canceled

Separate from Guerilla's own multiplayer game, an MMO based on sci-fi RPG series Horizon has seemingly been canned by developer NCSoft.

Helldivers 2 has been a huge live-service success for Sony, but otherwise, its recent 'forever game' efforts appear to be faltering. Hero shooter Concord was shut down within weeks. Recent reports claim that a God of War multiplayer game has also been cancelled. And now, seemingly, an in-development MMORPG based on Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West has gone the way of the non-robotic dinosaur. Produced by NCSoft, the Korean developer behind Aion and Throne and Liberty, the Horizon MMO is – or was – separate to Guerilla Games' own alleged multiplayer project. But fresh information suggests it's been abandoned.

Speculation about an Horizon Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, was internally referred to as 'Project H.' Initial rumors, based on the social media s of existing or former NCSoft employees, suggested the game was being built in Unreal Engine 5, that it would be released after NCSoft's Aion 2, and that it could arrive in late 2025.

However, a new report from Korean publication MTN says that various projects at NCSoft have been cancelled, including Project H. Translated from Korean into English by Google, the report explains that the decision to cancel 'H' was made by NCSoft at the end of 2024. The would-be game's development team has reportedly been disbanded, and those working on the project have been assigned to other internal divisions.

With regards to Guerilla's own Horizon multiplayer game, the developer recently posted a job canceled a new God of War online game.
