Halo has already had an impressive renaissance with its return to PC in the Halo CE PC beta is scheduled for the new year, but now Studios has put a more specific date on it – and shared the first details on the PC ports of Halo 2 and 3.
As for Halo CE, 343 Studios says that "we are currently in a pre-alpha phase and have been making good progress against many of the same features you see in Halo: Reach today," and that you can expect the beta – or rather, the 'flights,' as Microsoft calls them – are set to begin in January, barring any unforeseen issues.
The port of Halo 2 "is trailing behind" Halo 1, the devs say, "but not far." Mouse and keyboard is already in place for the development build, and FOV adjustments and additional aspect ratio is already in progress.
For Halo 3, all we have is a single screenshot showing the PC campaign interface. You can see further details in the full blog post, or check out the screens of each game below.
The first two Halos hit PC ages ago – well before the MCC – but this will be a first for Halo 3, as one of the Xbox 360's most beloved FPS games finally lands on mouse and keyboard.
