Is Zagreus in Hades 2?

Technically, Zagreus is not in Hades 2. His voice actor is not listed among the credited talent and the character makes no physical appearance in the early access build.

However, there's one cameo appearance of the original Hades protagonist at Melinoe's camp. If you approach the portrait and press the button to "brood," you'll see a zoomed-in version of the painting of Hades, Persephone, and Zagreus together as a happy family and holding a newborn child.

Hades 2 Zagreus: a painting of the son of Hades and Persephone stands with them, looking over a radiant newborn baby.

Weirdly, the existence of this painting and the events of Hades 2 go against a reference from the first game. If you managed to bring Persephone to the underworld and reunite the Olympians, there's one post-credits scene where Zagreus talks to her about her current feelings about Hades. The conversation turns to whether she's thinking of having more children, to which she replies, "Hahaha, no. You're plenty."

So, while Zagreus is not in the Hades 2 early access build, nor is his voice actor currently credited, perhaps some ties between the two remain undiscovered. We'll update you as soon as we learn more. As we've had our hands on early access for some time, you should check out what we thought in our Hades 2 keepsakes to collect.
