New open-world game transforms Minecraft into a co-op, Skyrim style RPG

Enjoy Studio launches its Kickstarter campaign for open-world survival game Everwind, a blend of Minecraft sandbox and Skyrim style RPG.

Oblivion Remastered has brought the world of Tamriel screaming back into the public consciousness, yet we're likely still a long way from any word on The Elder Scrolls 6. Fear not, however, as Enjoy Studio and Bohemia Interactive are here to plug that gap with the promising-looking Everwind. An open-world survival RPG that feels like Skyrim and Minecraft had a baby, it brings together the best parts of both games into a beautiful, blocky sandbox game, and the developer has just launched a Kickstarter to help it grow even bigger and bolder.

I've always wanted a robust Minecraft rival with more of a full-fledged Everwind is promising just that. It's got the rich sprawl of diverse biomes across a big open world, with the ability to gather and mine a wide range of materials that can be used to craft various weapons, equipment, and machines. You can grow magical plants and brew them into stat-buffing potions. Your home base is a floating fortress, built from the ground up to your specification as you outfit it with everything it needs to your squad.

So far, it's ticking off everything I want from the best sandbox games. But then comes the other side; full character progression across three distinct skill trees (warrior, engineer, and arcanist), each offering a range of ways to specialize and grow as your adventure continues. You'll have to tackle all manner of enemies, with the ability to lean into melee, ranged, or magic combat, with a range of procedurally generated equipment and gear to complement your chosen builds.

You can play Everwind alone, or jump in and tackle it as a co-op game. When it launches in early access, Enjoy Studio is planning to up to four players at once, but says it will introduce "dedicated servers and expanded multiplayer features" in the future. That initial release is currently planned to land sometime in the first half of 2026.

Now, a newly launched Kickstarter allows players to development while contributing to the shape of the game. Enjoy Studio CEO Michał Baraniak notes that the campaign "isn't about gathering missing funds," but rather "inviting our community to help shape Everwind's future and unlock additional content and features that go beyond our current development scope." Higher-tier backers will even have the option to design a custom armor set or appear in-game as an NPC.

Everwind roap, starting with early access in the first half of 2026 and leading to full release in the first half of 2027.

Enjoy Studio plans to launch Everwind into early access in the first half of 2026. The current roap plans two major updates and several smaller patches on the road to an estimated launch window in the first half of 2027. You can wishlist the game now on Steam if you want to keep track of its progress, or view the Kickstarter page for the full list of er tiers and respective rewards.
