Seven of our favourite games featured in the Epic Games Store Mega Sale this May

The Epic Games Store has a huge sale on some must-play PC games right now, and you can get up to 90% off on our favorite titles listed here.

Is there anything better than finally getting those PC games you've been wanting to play at a steep discount? It's one of the best feelings in the world, and right now, the Epic Games Store Mega Sale for May 2025 has up to 90% off on some top game releases from the past couple of years. From the beautiful open world of Tsushima to the horrors of Bright Falls, there's no shortage of excellent games to buy.

Some of the horror games, you'll find plenty of titles below that I suggest picking up.

Ghost of Tsushima

This game is so good, I have a tattoo of it – that's not a joke, it's real, and I genuinely love this game. The narrative sees you play as Jin Sakai, a samurai on the Island of Tsushima, who is forced to break his honor and disobey his high-ranking uncle in order to defeat the Mongol army that has invaded his homeland.

It's an open-world game that does things fantastically well, allowing you to focus on exploring a beautiful island before heading into risky but engaging battles with enemies. With fast-paced gameplay and stealth elements similar to the Assassin's Creed series, Ghost of Tsushima is worth playing, and it's just $40.19 / £33.49 right now – best of all, it includes the brilliant Iki Island expansion.

Borderlands 3

The FPS game, as you'll find yourself quickly loading up with some wacky and strange guns.

With a great variety of starting classes and an action-packed set of abilities, Borderlands 3 is now at a huge discount ahead of the new game, dropping to just $5.99 / £4.99 during this sale. That's around 25 hours of gameplay for the story alone at just 10% of the usual price, so you're in for a great time.

Alan Wake Remastered

Alan Wake 2 is one of my favorite horror games, so returning to the world of Bright Falls with Alan Wake Remastered felt like a homecoming. A huge improvement over the original 2010 game, Alan Wake Remastered sees the titular author going on vacation after struggling with writer's block, but things quickly go downhill, like any good horror experience.

At the time, it had the unique twist of using 'light' to stop the monsters in the dark, with a trusty flashlight being your only way to weaken and eventually kill any shadowy figures. If you end up enjoying Alan Wake's terrifying journey in this remaster, you'll be happy to know that Alan Wake 2, as well as the brilliantly bizarre Control, both follow the story of this game really well. Best of all, it's just $4.49 / £3.74 right now.

Assassin's Creed Mirage

While the excellent Assassin's Creed: Shadows has taken us to the land of Japan (finally, thank you, Ubisoft), Mirage is the closest the series has felt to its roots in a long time. Offering a smaller adventure that focuses on Basim, an actual assassin, you'll scurry across rooftops and eliminate your targets in this entry.

Set a decade before the events of Valhalla, you play as Basim and unravel his background while exploring his story as a Hidden One. It feels like a familiar story to old Assassin's Creed games, while having the more intense gameplay loop of the RPG entries, and right now, it's just $19.99 / £17.99.

Red Dead Redemption

14 years. It took 14 years for the Wild West of Red Dead Redemption to arrive on PC, and after over a decade of (impatiently) waiting and a sequel to tide us over, Rockstar Games' brilliant action-adventure game is finally on PC – and right now, it's just $34.99 / £27.99. It's not as detailed as the sequel, but it's still got that Rockstar Games magic.

While it came before 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, that game is a prequel to John Marston's story, which leads into the original. It follows Marston's life after being forced to help the government take down his former gang so that he can get his wife and son back.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

As far as the best RPGs on PC go, the Dragon Age series is certainly up there, but even if you've not played BioWare's brilliant adventures, The Veilguard is still a great time. Set ten years after the events of the previous game, Solas, your companion and now antagonist, is attempting to destroy the Veil, a metaphysical boundary between our world and the Fade.

As opposed to Inquisition's more tactical gameplay, Dragon Age: The Veilguard puts an emphasis on real-time action, which usually leads to intense battles and boss fights that feel truly rewarding to get through, and you'll enjoy a story that will please both newcomers and fans alike. The best part? It's only $29.99 / £24.99 right now, a huge 50% off despite launching late last year.

The Last of Us: Part I

Few zombie games have the emotional, gripping, and haunting story of The Last of Us: Part 1. Apocalyptic stakes aside, The Last of Us' focus on Joel, a grieving father who lost his daughter, and Ellie, an immune teenager who holds the future of the human race in her DNA, is simple yet unmistakably relatable.

As someone who played the game as a young teen and who now has a daughter myself, I find The Last of Us painfully beautiful, with solid gameplay that feels like a hybrid of Resident Evil and Uncharted. It's only $29.99 / £24.99 right now, and honestly, it's worth playing at full price if you have yet to try it.

Those are just a few of the games I suggest buying during this Epic Games Store sale, but there are plenty of other options, from the Norse God of War Duology to the Far Cry series. Here are some other recommendations I suggest taking a look at:
