Friday February 14 – Added statement from FromSoftware regarding a potential additional network test session.
The Elden Ring Nightreign beta is underway, and if you were one of the lucky few who got their hands on a key you can dive into the new FromSoftware game right now. At least in theory. Despite being a limited-access test, the launch of the beta is already suffering server troubles in its opening hour, with players finding themselves unable to or being kicked from the game before they can matchmake.
If you've 'failed to to the game server' in the Elden Ring Nightreign 'network test' that FromSoftware was looking for.

The beta test for the new two-person option is being considered for the future.
A message from FromSoftware's Japanese X (translated by Gooogle) reads: "There is currently a problem with the Elden Ring Nightreign game server. In order to restore service, we will restart the server. We ask all players to please log out of the game. Please note that there will be no penalty for logging out at this time."
So far, my time spent scanning across Twitch has revealed a handful of players getting some gameplay time in, mostly in the training area, but almost everyone I've seen has been booted to the menu after a while, with some unable to play at all. Hopefully the servers stabilize soon enough, and players are able to see what the new game brings to the Roundtable.
Update: A new message from the Elden Ring at the conclusion of the first test period adds, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the game server issues. Work is currently ongoing to improve the stability of the network test. An additional network test session is being considered. Thank you."
