Now's the time to dive back into Delta Force. Team Jade has been steadily expanding and improving the tactical shooter since it launched as a free-to-play game late last year, and the new season comes with more than enough reasons to play. There's the highly-requested nighttime game mode, new weapons, and a slew of quality-of-life changes, too. Best of all, you don't have long to wait.
On Monday April 21, Team Jade is dropping Delta Force Operator.
Team Jade's night battle mode is by far the update's real headliner, and the latest preview stream gives us our best look at the feature yet. It's not just pitch-black arenas and the need for night vision goggles, though, as Zero Dam (one of Delta Force's maps) is getting new tasks, enemies, and rotations. Playing the shooter during the night is sure to completely change how you interact with the game. You'll need to be smarter, quieter, and more aware of light sources if you want to succeed. The entire pace of Delta Force will change, as you're more careful of your surroundings and every slight noise you hear. The stakes will be higher, that's for sure.
New operator Nox is perfect for the dead of night, too, with their tactical equipment Silent Assault perfect for giving you a leg up. With it, you can minimize your sound propagation and limit the alert range of enemies, which is perfect for sneaking around and lining up the perfect shot. You'll need to utilize all your stealthy capabilities to get the most out of Nox.
The new season is also accompanied by a limited-time game mode: Victory Unite. This 20v20 mode is available to anyone of general rank or above, and features a specific voice chat, field markings, and call-in attacks. Each team will also have a commander, meaning that one lucky (or potentially unlucky) person will be in charge of leading their team to victory.
It's not just new content, however, as Team Jade also has some big quality-of-life improvements on the way. The studio has a slate of soundscape improvements that'll help you better understand where an enemy is coming from. You'll be able to recognize the sound of footsteps from different floors, whether they're coming from indoors or outside, and even tell roughly where gadget sounds are coming from, too.
You'll even have multiple leaderboards to climb and show off your own stats and skills, if that's one of the core reasons you play competitive games. As someone who glances at the scoreboard in Marvel Rivals far too often, I'm welcoming this feature with open arms. Lastly, in addition to all of this, Team Jade has also teased the arrival of a kill cam feature.
