Free Steam FPS Delta Force has big plans for 2025, and right at the top of the list is the arrival of its campaign. The paid single-player story mode, Black Hawk Down, draws inspiration from both the beloved Ridley Scott movie and the 2003 Delta Force game of the same name. While it shouldn't be considered a direct remake of the previous entry, but rather a reboot, developer Team Jade promises that it will "bring back great memories" of the older games in the series. We're going to be waiting a little longer for it, however, as the team works on "polishing and optimization" for the new mode.
We recently spoke to FPS game's story will also have the ability to team up with friends, and it'll offer "meaningful rewards" for the multiplayer, although Liao notes that these won't include anything that might impact gameplay to avoid any potential pay-to-win concerns.
Team Jade had previously announced that the campaign would arrive in January, but now delivers a new update suggesting we might be waiting slightly longer than expected. "We deeply appreciate your enthusiasm and understand how much you're looking forward to it," it writes of Black Hawk Down. "Your expectations drive us forward to deliver the best possible experience."

"To ensure the campaign meets our shared standards, we'll need a bit more time for final polishing and optimization," Team Jade continues. "As such, Black Hawk Down will now launch during Season Starfall, We'll share the new release date soon." Starfall is the name for Delta Force Season 2, which kicks off on Saturday January 18, so it sounds like we shouldn't be waiting too long for the campaign to arrive, but we'll have to wait for official confirmation from Team Jade to know exactly when it will land.
In the meantime, you can look ahead to the full Delta Force 2025 roap, which includes four planned seasons. "Thank you for your patience and ," Team Jade says in conclusion, "it means everything to us."
Whether you're on the hunt for the best multiplayer games, we've got the picks of the pack in 2025.
