Bronzebeard's Tavern is a free, frantic co-op game that tasks you and up to three other players with managing a fantasy drinking establishment. The game can be challenging, but it's just received a massive new update that will give you a little breathing room.
As of co-op game will now allow you to hire staff. That doesn't mean you have to give your fellow players the boot but if you've been stressing over serving all your customers, it can make things a tad easier.
Dubbed "Staff Up", this update doesn't replace your human-controlled fellow dwarves, instead it adds in NPCs who can perform specialised roles. Need your dishes clean? Employ a fairy to keep them clean. Want calmer customers? Let the bard step in and work their musical magic. You will, however, need to build a staff room and don't expect them to work for free.
The Staff Up update also includes a host of UI tweaks to make the game easier to get to grips with. Bronzebeard's Tavern can be extremely chaotic, especially if you're foolishly tackling it solo, so anything that makes your job easier is a bonus.
If you've yet to experience the joys of Bronzebeard's Tavern, it's absolutely worth diving into, especially if you can get a full team together. You're not just serving alcohol, there's food to serve, thieves to see off and much more. The base game is completely free on Steam though you can buy additional theme packs if you're into its serving shenanigans.
