How do you solve the Blue Prince dart puzzle? We never thought we'd like a game that challenged us with puzzling math problems, but here we are. Most of the conundrums in Blue Prince are simple riddles and safe combinations, others are solved by looking at the straight facts and items at your disposal. The billiards room, meanwhile, poses a different issue.
Valuable treasures are hidden in the dartboard of the puzzle game. So, if you're stuck, here's how to solve the Blue Prince dartboard puzzle.
Blue Prince part puzzle solution
The Blue Prince dartboard puzzle in the billiards room is randomized and gets progressively harder the more times you unlock the room. However, if you know the formula for completing the equations, you can complete every puzzle with ease.
Luckily, you don't need to know anything about darts to complete the puzzle on the dartboard, but you do need some basic math skills (or better yet, use a calculator!). Segments around the board appear in different colors, relating to the mathematical sum in question.
Here's what you need to know about the Blue Prince dart puzzle:
- Blue segments – addition
- Pink segments – multiplication
- Yellow segments – subtraction
- Purple segments – division
There are also other things you'll notice on the dartboard, altering how the colours work. They are:
- Square bullseye – multiply by itself
- Diamond bullseye – swap numbers
- Fractional segment – one third of the number
- Single wavy lines – round to the nearest single-digit number
- Double wavy lines – round to the nearest two-digit number
- Triple wavy lines – round to the nearest three-digit number
Example Blue Prince dartboard puzzles
From here, you need to know that the order in which you must carry out the calculations is from the innermost segment of the dartboard out. Here is an example:
- Start from the inside segment, 13, and subtract 10, getting 3.
- Since the square bullseye is yellow, now times this by itself.
- 3 x 3 = 9.
Another example:
- Starting from the center-most segment, multiply 9 with 5 to get 45.
- Now, since there is a pink diamond bullseye, swap the numbers to make 54.
- Subtract the yellow 3 to get 51.
- Divide this by 3 for a result of 17.
After completing 40 of these billiards room calculations, you'll earn The Bullseye Trophy and achievement. You'll be pleased to hear they no longer get harder from here, instead returning to the starting difficulty.
With these rules, you should have no trouble completing the Blue Prince billiards room puzzle. However, if you still get stuck, you can brute-force this one by working your way around all 20 numbers. Either way, you're on your way to the next room. If that's the Parlor, check out our separate guide to the Blue Prince safe codes you might need.
