How to switch to third-person mode in Avowed

Look at the world from an entirely different perspective with Avowed’s third-person mode to see the vast open-world with fresh eyes.

Want to use third-person mode in Avowed? When Obsidian showed off Avowed for the first time, there was some concern from RPG fans about the game's forced first-person perspective. Being able to play in third-person is especially helpful when exploring, making it possible to see parts of the environment that simply aren't possible to look at in first-person.

While it's not uncommon for open-world game from this viewpoint.

Here's what you need to do to switch to third-person in Avowed:

  • Press 'U' on your keyboard while in first-person mode.
  • If you're using a controller, hold down R3 while in first-person mode.
  • Alternatively, you can toggle the option within the settings by scrolling down to the 'Third-Person View' button underneath the Camera tab.

Playing in first-person mode offers no real advantage over playing in third-person, so we recommend switching it up every so often. As mentioned earlier, not only is it great for exploring, which subsequently makes it easier to clear your Avowed map, but it's also nice to be able to see all the fruits of your labor. From your armor to your weapons, it's important to remind yourself just how good you look when you're slaying xaurips and soldiers on the battlefield.

And that's all you need to switch to third-person mode in Avowed. If you're just beginning your Avowed best builds to get yourself prepared for the journey ahead.
