Realistic FPS Afterconflict feels like a new Flashpoint, and you can try it now

Afterconflict is a military simulator FPS in the vein of Arma 3, Hell Let Loose, and Operation Flashpoint, and it's just launched a demo.

Microprose has re-established itself as a major player in the simulation game scene over recent years. The publisher is responsible for everything from the tactical games Airborne Ranger: Fightout and Dagger Directive to the RTS Battlefall: State of Conflict and milsim Exfil. The company doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon, as evidenced by the announcement that it's set to publish a new realistic FPS in the style of Arma 3, Operation Flashpoint, and Hell Let Loose called Afterconflict, which just launched a demo on Steam.

Set in an alternate history where the Cold War erupted into World War III, FPS game that sees players fighting across battlefields torn apart by NATO and Warsaw Pact armies. As a result of this setting and its emphasis on grounded simulation, Afterconflict models the weapons, gear, and vehicles that would have been used by the nations involved in its conflict.

It also recreates the ballistics of these weapons and feel of the vehicles, requires its players to make use of realistic tactics to stay alive, and includes "off-map options that allow the player to call in assistance," such as aerial back-up.

The demo put out today allows players to try some of the game for themselves by playing as a soldier from the USSR or DDR at a firing range. There are tutorials that introduce Afterconflict's systems as well as a limited arsenal of firearms, equipment, and vehicles to sample.
