    I acquired an SSD drive with an old, and apparently hacked, copy of Windows on it. I built a machine around it, but then found out the OS wouldn't activate. I'm fine with paying for Windows, but it's surprisingly difficult to get a product code legitimately on the internet. I had assumed Microsoft could sell me one, but no, they don't. It was the middle of the night and the PC had to work the next morning. I couldn't go to Best Buy or whatever to buy a box.

    I purchased this on Amazon and didn't even have to it. The product key was on the order receipt, and all I had to do was input the key into the activation field in Windows settings. This instantly activated Windows, which is what I needed.

    For all the people having problems installing, hardware compatibility is a thing and always has been a thing. Check first! To play it safe, buy Windows 10 Home and 11 for free. I had 11 installed already and all I needed was the key. If your computer can't even run Windows 10, just use your phone. It's more powerful.

    Dear team, I have followed the steps to redeem the product key and tried entering the product key. it's not working. I saw this message in the Activate settings section when I entered the next after entering a product key. "The product key you entered did not work, check the product key and try again or enter a different one.". Please look into this ASAP.

    This works very easily. Make sure to have a USB stick with the Windows 11 Media Kit installed (the drive must be wiped out, you need a minimum 32GB USB stick) to use.

    Once installed, enter the activation key Amazon provides and you are good to go!

    Don’t look at the bad reviews because they probably didn’t do the procedure correctly.

    As some of you already know, before buying this, you must check compatibility. Windows update will tell you if you can run Win 11. If you already have Win 10 and have met the requirements, you DO NOT need to buy this, you will get a free upgrade. Generally if you have a new PC from the past two three years or so, it will work but again you must check for compatibility or you will end p spending 130 bucks on a code you can't use till you upgrade your system.

    second thing to note, if this is a brand new fresh install, prepare to spend hours ing updates, which we all know is a thing. otherwise, this is just an OS that pretty much most people use so nothing to complain about.

    IDK how on earth Amazon and Microsoft are screwing this up but this is way more of a hassle than it should be. Code was cut and pasted into the product key validator and then hand entered just for a check. Now I'm going to have to call MS ? Amazon ? it isn't even clear how to get a refund.

    After several hours and many failed reinstalls, settings and the insipid android app, i bought a DVD copy of Windows 11 Home from Newegg.
    After receiving the Windows Home from New Egg. I tried to validate the new install and it accepted the code from Amazon.

    I built little hobby computer around an inexpensive Asus MB and AMD Ryzen 5 processor and needed a MS Windows 11 license. Amazon is a vendor and I used my Amazon to make the purchase. Amazon provided me with the Windows 11 key.

    The install was relatively painless and straight forward. The operating system itself is available for from the Microsoft web site. Go to the Windows 11 page and follow the instructions to create a Windows 11 install bootable USB flash drive. Once you have created the bootable drive you can boot your PC using that drive. You will be prompted to either input your Windows license key or to install Windows and validate the install later. I chose the input key option and was quickly advised that my hardware did not meet the minimum system requirement for Windows 11 which I knew was not correct. I rebooted and took the second option which allowed windows to install. Once the install was completed and Windows was running I activated Windows using the key I purchased from Amazon. Windows recognized all of my hardware and it was an easy install. I can't rate tech because I did not need it.

    The computer has been running without any issues or problems for two months.
